Either you have or will be relocating to one of the most exciting regions in the Greater Phoenix area: SkySong. Whether you are relocating to SkySong or the surrouding area, you need to know the basics about becoming a Scottsdale resident. SkySong is located at the intersection of Scottsdale and McDowell Rds, just 15 minutes from Sky Harbor International Airport. The main freeways in the region include the 101, 202, I-10 and 60. Most frequenty you will travel on the South and North Loop 101 and 202 freeways.The Phoenix area, affectionately called "The Valley" is spread out and home to over 1,445,632 people.
There are many different neighborhood niches in Scottsdale and the Greater Phoenix Area. The closest neighborhoods to SkySong are; SkySong corridor, South Scottsdale, Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert and Phoenix.
The average rent for a basic one bedroom apartment is approx. $900 in Scottsdale, with utilities, cable, internet connection and phone service adding up to $300 on the low end, for a grand total of $1,200 plus applicable taxes and incidentals. If you don't move your furniture to the area immediately, you can rent some at Cort Furniture for $300 - $400 per month. This would bring your new total to $1,500 per month on the low end plus tax for an inexpensively furnished apartment. The closest dining option at SkySong is the only restaurant in the complex, The City Market Deli. The Deli offers a new interior and deli food with Boars Head meats, salads, baked goods and a quick mart.

There is plenty of entertainment near SkySong. Old Town Scottsdale, which is located approx 2.2 miles from SkySong has been compared to Miami's South Beach region but with a wild west flare. "Dive Bar": Gilligans
Scottsdale's famous "little people bar" is a must see, laid back attraction, located between 4th & 5th avenues and just East of Scottsdale Rd at 4251 N Winfield Scott Plaza, Scottsdale, AZ 85251.
Upscale Bar: Mabel's on Main or AZ88
Mabel's is located on Main St and brings you an intimate venue, dark yet classic elegance and fancy drinks. Check out their small plates or S'mores desert, served fondue style. AZ88 is hidden in the park by the SmoCa (Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art), and decorated with white modern furniture on their picturesque patio. Enjoy a menu filled with new takes on old favorites. To get there head North on Scottsdale Rd, go right on 2nd street and park in the SmoCa parking structure, head towards SmoCa and find AZ88 in the courtyard. Classic Bar: Old Town Tavern
Old Town Tavern is also located near SmoCa and is one of the oldest bars in Scottsdale. A small inside space and even larger outside patio comprise this classic bar. Try their Moscow Mule and check out live music on the patio. Find them on the North side of the SmoCa courtyard, to the left of AZ88, at 7320 E. Scottsdale Mall, Scottsdale, Az 85251. Featured Eats: Caldero Flavors of Mexico
Caldero Flavors of Mexico is a new restaurant located on Thomas Rd just west of Scottsdale Rd, approx 2 miles from SkySong. Caldero boasts an expansive menu of MezCal cusine. This place could be perfect for a corporate luncheon, catered buffet or dinner date! When seated you are greeted by a friendly waitress, and three chip dips, including bean dip, green and red salsa. You can pick from any one of their excellent specialty drinks from the full bar.
All menu items include choice of mexican or cilantro lime rice and charro beans, refried beans or black beans in addition. It is very fun to order different types of rice and beans every time you visit, making their already expansive menu 3x as interesting with a variety of flavors.
